Customise PDF tickets
Pulse: Event Tickets generates a PDF ticket for every order and emails it to the buyer automatically. The PDF template is fully customisable from the admin.
Where to find it
- Open Pulse: Event Tickets in your Shopify admin.
- Click PDF Tickets (or go to
/app/pdf-tickets).
Template editor
The editor shows a live preview of the ticket on the right and configuration panels on the left.
Branding
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Logo | Upload your logo (PNG or SVG, max 2 MB). Appears top-left on the ticket. |
| Primary colour | Main accent colour — used for headings and the QR code border. |
| Background colour | Ticket background. White is the safest for printing. |
| Font | Pick from the available typefaces. |
Layout
| Section | Toggle |
|---|---|
| Event name | Always shown |
| Date & time | On by default |
| Venue / location | On by default |
| Ticket type | On by default |
| Order number | On by default |
| Attendee name | On if you collect attendee name at checkout |
| Barcode (below QR) | Off by default — enable if your scanners also support barcodes |
Footer text
Optional text printed at the bottom of the ticket (e.g. terms, no-refund policy, contact email). Supports plain text only — no markdown.
Saving and applying
Click Save template. The template applies to all future PDF tickets generated by Pulse.
Saving the template does not regenerate PDFs for orders already placed. To resend an updated PDF to an attendee, open the order in /app/orders → Resend ticket email.
Per-event override
You can assign a different template to a specific event:
- Open the event → Settings tab.
- Under PDF ticket template, pick Custom and select or create an alternative template.
This is useful for multi-brand setups or events with different visual identities.
Sending behaviour
Pulse sends the PDF ticket email:
- Immediately after a paid order is placed.
- Again if you click Resend ticket email on an individual order.
- On request via bulk resend from the Tickets list (select tickets → Resend).
The email uses your Shopify store email address as the sender. To change the sender name or reply-to address, update your store's email settings in Shopify.
