Create an event

Events are the foundation of Pulse. Each event holds one or more ticket types, a date and venue, and capacity limits. Once published, Pulse syncs the ticket products to your Shopify store automatically.

Configure optional features for this event:

  • Anti-bot protection — enable the fair-queue system for high-demand events.
  • PDF ticket template — pick a template or use the default.
  • Attendee details — require extra fields at checkout (e.g. full name, dietary requirements).

Click Create event.

Pulse automatically:

  1. Creates a Shopify product for the event with one variant per ticket type.
  2. Sets inventory tracked by Pulse (not Shopify) for each variant.
  3. Generates a QR code for every order placed.
  4. Queues a PDF ticket email to each buyer after purchase.

The event appears in your Events list with status Active.

Open the event from the list → click Edit. You can update the name, description, date, and venue at any time. Capacity can only be increased (not decreased below tickets already sold).

Open the event → click Close sales. Pulse hides the Shopify product from the storefront and blocks new orders. Existing tickets are not affected.

To completely cancel an event and void all tickets, contact support. Voiding triggers refund workflows and notifies attendees.
